Paperclip5950. •.You are correct, you get the 6ghz band that can be used for more speed or a duplex connection. So your device could send and receive at once, like Ethernet. Not as good of course, but a lot better than otherwise. This is 48 volt "active" PoE. As long as you stick with IEEE standard PoE adapters you should be fine. Watch for 1Gb PoE adapters as well. I think some might be limited to 100Mb. Watch out for Ubiquiti 24 volt passive PoE devices.Ubiquiti is prosumer gear, period. It shows by their lack of proper product and software management. Their CEO is just looking for the next best shiny thing to keep shareholders happy. Before the Alien, I was using the Amplifi HD for 3+ years. Gave it to my parents and they have used it for the past 2 years without issues as well. My modems shit the bed before my Ubiquiti products do. You do have a point that the aliens been around for a bit. The UDR internet speed was max 650 Mbps on a 1 Gbps connection, on WiFi I could reach 600 Mbps - when using the UDM-Pro and the same AP's I got WiFi 700 Mbps. The UDR was stable and did a good job, in real life testing I could not feel the difference between WiFi 600 and 700 Mbps.Seriously just get the U6. If you find it doesn't meet your needs (and I note this is a home) get the U7 or whatever later. Worth the purchase if starting from scratch, less if just upgrading.
