Not as good of course, but a lot better than otherwise. Before the Alien, I was using the Amplifi HD for 3+ years. Gave it to my parents and they have used it for the past 2 years without issues as well. My modems shit the bed before my Ubiquiti products do. You do have a point that the aliens been around for a bit. The UDR internet speed was max 650 Mbps on a 1 Gbps connection, on WiFi I could reach 600 Mbps - when using the UDM-Pro and the same AP's I got WiFi 700 Mbps. The UDR was stable and did a good job, in real life testing I could not feel the difference between WiFi 600 and 700 Mbps.Seriously just get the U6. If you find it doesn't meet your needs (and I note this is a home) get the U7 or whatever later.
